HCDC Joins CTOO ‘Suroy ‘ta Davao 2026’ Strategic Tourism Initiative Launch Holy Cross of Davao College (#HCDC) formally participated in the official launch of “Suroy ‘ta Davao City 2026,” a strategic tourism initiative spearheaded by the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO). Held at Rogen Inn, the event was presided over by CTOO Officer-in-Charge Mr. Willenito P. Tormis, Jr., and Tourism Relations Specialist Ms. Gracie Plata, serving as a vital convergence point for government agencies and private stakeholders. HCDC’s representation at this assembly underscores the institution's commitment to collaborative destination development and the promotion of Davao City’s localized economic and cultural vitality. A significant highlight of the HCDC’s involvement was the technical contribution of Mr. Warren P. Quiñones, Coordinator for Philanthropic Development and faculty member of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Education. As a core member of the Tourism Circuit Design Team, Mr. Quiñones played a pivotal role in the crafting and validation of four new thematic circuits: Abundant Harvest, Market Experience, Davao Food Crawl, and Furusato Davao. These circuits are designed to diversify the city’s tourism portfolio by integrating agricultural wealth, local commerce, and the historical narratives of Davao’s diverse communities into a cohesive visitor experience. Also representing HCDC was Mr. Rhys Lacia, Institute of Davao Studies, who showed the institution’s support for the city’s evolving tourism landscape. HCDC pledged its continued commitment to fortifying the historical roots of local tourism circuits, offering the scholarly expertise needed to keep Davao’s rich heritage at the forefront of urban growth. As the city evolves, HCDC stands ready to provide the academic and technical support necessary to ensure that Davao’s growth remains sustainable, culturally rich, and uniquely Davaoeño. #HCDCTrailblazerUpdates ![]()
